I cut a piece of plywood into the shape of a rabbit and sculpted and painted clay bunnies to glue to it.



We wanted to buy some crafts when we were in Kauai, but I thought I could do better.
I painted the island on posterboard and glued sand and shells to represent the beaches.



I used clay to make my Honu - the Hawaiian sea turtle.
We watched these at the Pineapple Dump by the bicyle path on the Coconut Coast of Kauai.





Here I shaped clay into a palm tree and island and painted the background.





This is the Hanalei Bay with sand, shells and glass glued on for effect.

This is a painting of the Hawaiian state fish, the Humuhumunukunukuapua'a. The background was applied with a sponge.




The Hala tree provides these interesting seeds that can be used as a brush.
But I saw them as the heads for ZZ Top. The bodies were sculpted in clay.
